What this last quote of the year is saying is to ALWAYS CHOOSE THE RIGHT! When you choose the right good things will come back to you. You will get that car you want, you will graduate high school, you will go to college etc. good things only happen to good people. If you go out and do drugs, drink, and steal where are you going with your life? Where will you end up besides in jail or on house arrest? Don’t do good then all of a sudden start going down hill. You always want to strive to go up! Never down. Yes, there may be some difficulties throughout the year, but you have to learn from your mistakes. Use that as a lesson for the future. Read your goals and put all the effort into achieving them. If you decide to go out and make the wrong choice, think about how your mom will feel if she finds out her son/daughter in in jail or was caught stealing. Would you make your mom proud or will you make her disappointed in you? Don’t always do things to make your family proud, do it because that's what makes you proud. In the end you are going to have yourself to count on when you have fallen to walk the path of success alone. That’s okay though. Maybe on your journey you will find other people that will help you conquer every goal you have set for yourself. You will go far with CTR! Remember that for future references. Always remember to make not only your family happy but yourself happy too.

     What I liked about this class is that I got to learn how to type quicker than before and memorize the keyboard and where all the keys are at. I also learned that my life, my decisions. I don't need people in my life that aren't going to lead me in the right direction. I should focus on myself and do me. In the end It's going to be me and the people that I decide to keep with me for the rest of my life. I also liked about this class is that I learned to meet new people and sharing our experiences we had over break. 
      What I didn't like about this class is how everyone kept talking and interrupting when we were watching a video or when you were explaining a student success statement. I actually wanted to learn more about the statements because it gives me hope and I start to realize everything. From being a CTR person to making my own decisions. 
      My recommendations for improving the class is to play some soothing music and give kids free time like if they're being good. You should also do some activities with the class just so they are not always being on the computer. 
      A highlight for me in this class was when I learned a lot of lessons. Each statement we had to write made me more and more aware of my life and everything I need to do to make it better. 
      I think I really did do my best in this class because although I would talk to my partners my work still got done. I also made sure that I had every requirement for the assignment and if I didn't then I would go back and add more to make sure it was good. 
      I do read my life planning goals journal to remind me of all the things I want to successfully achieve my goals and everything else I have set forth. 
      I am committed to being a CTR person because when I was younger, my mom and dad were out doing drugs and making bad choices. That made me sad because I wasn't able to spend time with them my whole life as a kid. As I was growing up I always told myself that I didn't want to end up like them. In jail not being able to see my kids and make memories as they grow up. I will also stay committed to choosing the right because I want to make my family and people around me happy and show them that no matter how bad my life was when I was younger, I will not be the same person as they were.

What this quote is trying to say is to always do what’s right no matter what situation you are in. Stand up for what you believe is the right thing to do. Don’t back down because no one is there to back it up with you. Do what’s right even if no one is for it. Don’t do what’s wrong because everyone is for it. Do what you have to do even if you walk the path of success alone. I would personally like to accomplish my goals on my own. I wouldn’t like to have people bringing me down everytime I make a mistake. I would like the people that will help me learn from them and tell me not to give up. People that are going to motivate me to do better each year. If I have to be that person by myself, I will. Throughout high school I learned that nothing is permanent. I have to accomplish my goals and worry about myself because no one got me like I got me. I’m going to make sure I always do the right thing no matter what. You should too. You should make sure everyone around you is doing what is right without having to be told. Whether it’s your friend, or brother or sister, remind them that they should ALWAYS choose the right.

Plumber

The topic I chose is plumber. Plumbers install and repair water supply lines, waste disposal systems, and related appliances and fixtures to keep homes and businesses flowing smoothly. They must also study building plans and inspect structures to assess the material and equipment needed. They must locate and mark the position of the pipe installations, connections,passage holes, and fixtures in structures, using measuring tools. If they need serious work, plumbers will install an underground water piping systems and extend piping to connect fixtures and plumbing to these systems. I chose this topic because I find it really interesting how they are able to work with pipes and see how the water works for toilets and sinks. I also chose this topic because I would like to learn more about how they learn and educate themselves to the job.

Yoga Therapist

Duties and Responsibilities: Yoga therapist is to keep their clients healthy, flexible and safe. They must ensure that all the poses are executed correctly and without injury, which requires close attention to the abilities of their clients and concise instruction.
Salary: The median pay is $40,970.

Education: Yoga teachers must already be certified or be working toward it when hired. Training programs for aspiring yoga instructors can take up to a year to complete. Yoga teaching and integrative yoga therapy classes are offered at naturopathic colleges, community colleges, fitness centers, yoga centers and yoga studios.

Demand for this profession: The demand for this profession is to grow 8% from 2014-2024.

I don’t think I would like to be one because this career doesn’t fit in the medical pathway that I am looking into becoming. Also because I feel like maybe I could hurt them in some way while I’m trying to make them feel better.

Memorial Day Weekend

What I did on my Memorial weekend was go to San Diego. My sister, my Aunt and I packed our bags and took a road trip to San Diego. On our way over there, we stopped at La Vista Point where we saw the beautiful view and the squirrels. As soon as we arrived, we went to Seaport village. This village was something similiar to Santa Monica pier. You can go boat riding, fly kites or watch out in the ocean. While we were there, we visited the Navy Seal ship. We also just walked around and enjoyed every thing they had there to see. When we were done at the village, we left to the beach to watch the sunset. Although there was no sun at the time we were there, we did get to play around in the sand and put our feet in the water. We also went down by the rocks where the sea lions and ducks were. Watching them reminded me of the movie “Finding Dory.” My sister and I named all the Seals “Gerald” which is one of the seals from the movie. We also named the ducks “Becky,” also from the movie. In addition, we went to “Night life.” This is where all the people have fun in the streets and go clubbing. Unfortunately me and my sis were underage, so my mom took us to go eat at the “Burger Lounge.” The hamburgers there were really good. Lastly, we left and went straight to the hotel room to sleep. The next day, before it was time to go home, we went to a park where they had a beautiful church and a nice garden with beautiful roses. Me and my sis was having fun taking pictures and just talking about what we want to do. There was a lot of people there complementing our hair and that we looked like a rainbow. It was a really memorable weekend and I wish we can do it again.

What this quote is trying to say is that if you don’t have any goals in life, where will you go? Just like the ship, if it doesn’t have a rudder, then the ship won’t go anywhere but either straight or it will just sink. The many goals you have in life will lead you to where you want to go. You know the exact path you want to go down. You know exactly what you want to do with your life and not waste it. If the ship has the rudder, it will have its destination. Either Catalina ISland or the Bahamas etc. This is similar to you. The more goals you have, the more successful you are going to be in the future. You won’t have to worry about anyone but yourself. You will focus on you and make sure you make your dreams come true. Follow your dreams, what you want to do with your life. A man with a goal is like a ship with a rudder. You know where you want to go. From destination A to destination B. you know how you're going to succeed and accomplish that goal of yours. You can only do this if you have the goals that you need.

“When a deep injury is done us, we never recover until we forgive.”

What this quote is trying to say is that forgiveness is key. You may have all this anger inside of you but to get rid of it you must forgive. You may know its not the right thing to do, but if it makes you happy, then do it. You can’t live life having all this anger towards someone for what they did to you. Just let them know that you forgive them and go on with your life. If you let all the anger build up inside of you, you may not be able to move on quickly. You're going to feel that you won’t be able to trust someone like you used to do before. My question is “How?” How does forgiving someone help you recover? What if forgiving a person that has hurt you so much causes you to get hurt even more hurt? I have learned that Forgiveness helps stop the anger inside of you. It helps stop all the emotions you feel towards that person because you finally decided to let it go. Yeah, they may have hurt you so many times but you have to learn not to let it get to you. If you let it affect you, it will hurt you in so many ways. You will not be able to move forward. You will stay in the same place or simply move back. Yeah, you can take baby steps, but that’s like always rolling a 1 on the dice while playing a Monopoly game. You won’t get nowhere in life. It’s best to simply forgive, forget, and move on. Now that is what I think is key to life.

“Dare to do right.”

What this quote is trying to say is to take the dare to make the right choice. Don’t do the dare that your friends say. For example, “I dare you to do drugs” or “ I dare you to drink all that alcohol.” Don’t let your friends dare you to do something you do not want to do. The dare you should be asking yourself is to do the right thing. Dare your other friends to do the right thing to. This should be the only dare in your life. Dare yourself to go and help that lady with her bags. Go dare yourself to not take a drink of that alcohol or a puff of that cigarette. Know that you don’t need those in your life to be “cool.” If the person doesn’t like you for you, then screw them. You shouldn’t pressure yourself into doing something you know you don’t want to do. Making the right choice is what matters most because your DECISIONS DETERMINE YOUR DESTINY. Ask yourself if you want to go down the path of failure or the path of success. Choosing the right and making the right choices will lead you down the path of success. As long as you stay true to your word and believe in yourself, nothing will go wrong.

“Dare to stand alone.”

What this quote is saying is that no matter what situation you are in, you shouldn’t be afraid to be alone. If people are at a party drinking and doing drugs, don’t be scared to tell them NO. Don’t let them convince you to do it because they are calling you names. If you know that is bad, don’t do it. Also, don’t do it if you just want to fit in with the rest of your friends. If you know they are not leading you down the correct path, leave them. Stand up for yourself and tell them that they’re not the type of friends you want to hang out with. Once again, don’t let them pressure you into doing something you are not capable of doing. If you don’t want to take a drink of alcohol, tell them NO. If you don’t want a puff of that cigarette, tell them NO. Make the right decision even if everybody is against it. Decisions determine your Destiny, also said by Thomas S. Monson. Don’t let the bad people influence you to ruin your career and what you want to do in life.  

Physical Therapist

Duties and responsibilities: Physical therapists are key to recovery for some patients who are recuperating from injuries, illnesses, and surgery. They work with patients to help them regain movement and manage pain, either in a hospital or clinical setting

Education: To become one you must have a Doctoral or Professional degree.

I don’t think I would like to be one because I feel like my remedies to get better wouldn’t help them feel better. I also wouldn’t because I would be so scared thinking that I’m going to hurt them more than what they already are.

This quote is trying to say that if you do everything how it’s supposed to be, then nothing can possibly go wrong. All you have to do is follow the dreams you have set for yourself. If you truly believe that you can accomplish them, that’s good. Faith is all you need for yourself. You shouldn’t depend on people to tell you if you’re going to make it or not. If they tell you you're not, then those are the people you want to exclude from your life. They are only going to bring you down after everything you have done. Pursue your dreams, that’s how you're going to be successful. If you give up because of one mistake, then what are you going to do with your life now? You gotta keep that mindset that “I can make it! I can make it!” In the end that’s all that will matter. It’s you and your happiness of conquering your goals. Your parents are going to be so proud of you. You just have to keep “swimming.” Meaning to not give up.

Pilot

Duties and responsibilities: A pilot's initial responsibility is to check the weather throughout the flight path and confirm flight schedules. Pilots are also responsible for running a comprehensive preflight checklist of all systems, including fuel, engines, hydraulics and electronics.

Salary: The median pay is $102,520.

Education: To become a pilot you need a bachelor's degree in aircraft operations, aviation, aeronautical engineering, or a related field. In addition, you will complete up to two months of ground training and need more than 1,500 hours of flight experience.

I don’t think I would like to be one because even though they have good pay, I wouldn’t feel safe flying hundreds of people in the night or day time.

Phillip Riggs’ Four Success Tips

Today’s quote is about four tips for success. If you follow these tips and take in consideration, your life will be good. If you go out and slack off instead of working hard, where will you be later on? Remember hard work pays off. If you work really hard for something but then quit, how are you going to be successful for the rest of your life? How are you going to say to yourself that you made it far enough and it’s too late to back down now? That’s when you follow your passion, your dreams. You know that your mindset is towards  you reaching your goal. You will do nothing but to accomplish it no matter how long it will take you. That is what’s going to make you happy throughout life. Being successful is not wanting to have a lot of money, it’s about chasing after something you really love to do. If you love cooking, cook for people. Show them that that’s really what you want to do. If you do things for other people without being told, good things will come to you. It may not come at once, but a little patience and it will. Do things to not only make you happy but the people around you as well. If you see someone struggling with groceries, offer to help take them in their house or even to the car. At least you know by you helping, that made you feel good about it and it made the other person feel good to. They know that generous people still hang around somewhere. It just takes a simple “May I help you with that” to bring a smile upon someone’s face.

What this quote is trying to say is that you will only have good values in life. Whether it’s money, or friendships that will matter the most. A good value is when you choose the right. You feel happy and something will come your way. Good values is higher than money, love, and happiness. If you value something so much, you will protect it for the rest of your life. If that valuable thing goes missing, you're going to feel sad about it. You may not be happy, but that one valuable thing can make your day no matter what.

What this quote is trying to say is that no matter what the decision is, you should always make the right choice. If you're in a situation whether to go with friends and steal or just leave them, you should make the choice to leave them. Don’t let your so called “friends” pressure you into doing something you know isn’t the right thing to do. If you see an elderly lady carrying bags, you should go offer her your assistance to carry them for her. You shouldn’t do something because they’re going to give you money, or take you out to eat. You should do it because it’s the right thing to. Make not only the people around you but yourself feel good as well. If you do good, you feel good but if you do bad, then you will feel bad. Why feel bad the rest of your life because of one simple mistake that could’ve been avoided. Instead, feel good for doing something no one had to ask you to do, you just did it.

What this quote is trying to say is that you can never get anything from choosing the wrong. If you choose to go out and steal, then you might get caught and go to jail. If you go out and help a person out then something good might come to you. If you cheat on a test, yeah you might feel good about scoring an A but later on you're going to feel bad. The teacher will them find out and you get a zero for that specific test. You can’t feel good while doing bad and you can’t feel bad while choosing good. It doesn’t work that way. How are you going to feel good about stealing but feel bad about helping someone in need of help? You should tell yourself that you won’t get anything from choosing the wrong. Maybe if something does happen to you while choosing the wrong, it’s a lesson for you to not want to do it again.

What this quote is trying to say is that it’s always the right time to choose the right. You should always choose the right no matter what situation you're in. If your friends want to go out and steal, you should tell them no. They are leading you down the path of destruction. You should report someone that you see making a bad choice. Whether it’s bullying or stealing. You should tell someone because it’s the right thing to do. If someone was stealing your bike while you were shopping, you would want someone to do the same for you as you will for them. Treat people how you want to be treated. If you would want someone to stand up for you if someone is bullying you, then you do the same to. Help someone that is need of help because choosing the right should be at the top of your list. That should be and everyday thing, not a once in awhile thing. Choose the right no matter what situation you are in!

What this quote is trying to say is that when you give your word of honor, you should always keep your word. If you say you're going to do something, then do it. You shouldn’t have to be behind bars in order for you to keep your word. If you say you're going to be at practice at 3:00, then be there. Don’t have the team and the coach waiting for you because something came up last minute. Call ahead of time and let them know that you're not going to be able to make it. Keeping your word is like keeping the key to someone’s heart. If you break what you said, you will hurt not only yourself but the other person as well.don’t let one mistake be the reason why people don’t trust you anymore. If someone made a promise to you that they will help you with homework at 3:30, but they never show up. How would you feel? If you don’t like that feeling then imagine the feeling you give to the other people you do that to. It will make them feel terrible because they thought they can count on someone like you but now they’re having second thoughts about it. Always keep your word so you can always have that trust with people.

The 10 Indian Commandments

What these commandments are saying is to have respect towards your life living. You should respect what they ask of you. They want you to be a CTR person. Respecting not just life but the people too. These commandments help us because they teach us how to treat a person or adult in our life. How you should always be respectful to them and treat them good. Another thing is that you should always take responsibility for anything you do. If it’s good or bad, you should say it was you. Don’t let someone else take the blame for the mistake you did. That’s not right! You should tell them that you did it and you take full responsibility for it. You will know the next time you want to choose the wrong the consequences that come with it. This also implies for choosing the right. If you do something good and people want to recognize you, speak up. How would you feel if you helped save a woman's life and someone else takes the credit for it. I know I would feel bad because that could’ve been me but I chose not to say anything. Just follow what someone asks of you. Nothing will go wrong if you follow what will make you a better person.

“A promise must never be broken.”

What this quote is trying to say is that if you say something, you should always keep your word for it. If you say you're going to be somewhere at a certain time, make it happen. If you're going to be a few minutes late, then call someone so they know ahead of time. Don’t have someone waiting for you because you couldn’t make it the last minute. If you know you're not going to be able to make it, call ahead of time and cancel or reschedule. If you keep on breaking your promises, no one is going to be able to trust you anymore. They’re going to look for someone they can confide in the most. Don’t make a promise that you can’t keep. Tell them i’ll let you know or maybe. Don’t make it a for sure thing and then something last minute comes up. Promises should never be broken. A promise is like somebody giving you the key to their heart. When they come back asking if you still have it, you say no, I lost it. That person is not gonna trust you with anything that valuable since you lost it the first time. Stay true to your word and everyone will stay true to you.

I think I would like to be one because I would like the experience to open somebody up and see what the inside of us really looks like.

Orthodontist

I think I would like to be one because they have good pay. I would also like to help people get the smile that they want by making their teeth straighter.

What this quote is trying to say is to always make the right decision. For example, if you believe lying is wrong say it. Don’t stay quiet because everybody else is against it. If you know that your friends drinking and smoking is wrong, tell them. If they don’t listen to you then you need to find new friends. Make decisions for your own good. Don’t make a decision because your friend said to or everyone it saying it to be that. Make the decision to do what is right. If you know that stealing is wrong, don’t do it. If you know lying is bad, don’t do it. Your decisions determine your destiny. If you go out and make wrong decisions, then your life won’t go on as pretty as you think it might be. You can run into so many bumps in the road and you will soon realize that it’s time to change. If you want to be successful, choose the right. How do you want to be successful if you're going out and stealing, drinking etc. if you really work hard for something that you want, you will get it. It will take time but in the end it will all be worth it. Choose the right and you will be going down the right path.

Optometry Technician or Assistant

Duties and responsibilities: Optometrist assistants help optometrists by conducting diagnostic tests, recording and measuring vision, testing eye function, instructing patients in inserting and caring for contact lenses, preparing examination rooms, cleaning and arranging equipment, answering phones, making appointments, handling bookkeeping and other tasks as needed.

I don’t think I would like to be one because I want to be in the medical field and do open surgeries and take tests of patients etc.

Spring Break
