Honesty

Honesty, you better believe it video.
This video was about some kids in a school that were taking an exam. Many kids wanted to cheat but one guy stood up and told them “If i see anyone cheating, I will turn you in because I worked hard to get into medical school.” As soon as he said that, everyone put away their cheat sheets. Another one is a class also taking an exam and one girl asks a girl across from her if she knew the answer to number 4. She sat there quietly while looking at the teacher and thinking about her consequences. She finally looked at the other girl and told her she didn’t know. The lesson of this story is to always stay true to yourself and be honest. Don’t cheat on a test because that will come in the way of your future. If the teacher were to catch you, you would most likely get into deep trouble. If you know u have a test coming up, study for it. Pass the test so those long nights of studying actually pay off. Be proud and not guilty knowing that you cheating on that test is going to live with you forever.

when you tell a lie it leads to another.

“When you tell one lie it leads to another.”
This quote means that once you tell one lie, you will start to tell many lies to cover up what you did. In order for you not to get in trouble, the first thing you do is come up with an excuse to get yourself out of it. Why not tell the truth? Why get yourself in more trouble than what you already are? They might get mad at you for what you did but at least you told them the truth. You will get in trouble more if you come up with a lie that you know will get you out of the situation you are in. Maybe if you choose the right, you won’t have to come up with lies. You're always making good choices so you shouldn’t have to come up with any lies at all. When you tell people lies, they won’t be able to believe you anymore. When your telling them the truth, they might not believe you because of the many lies you told in your past. Is it better to keep one’s trust or lose it forever? You should think about that next time you want to lie to someone and make the problem worse for never telling them the truth.

The Sting

The Sting of the scorpion.

This story was about a little boy named Patrick Kearon and his family. They were enjoying a nice family vacation in the Arabian Peninsula. Patrick’s parents always told him to wear his tennis shoes if he was going to go out and walk around. Well, he decided to go and walk for a little bit. He put his sandals on because he said he was only going for a couple minutes. As he was walking he felt a thorn poke his foot. As he looked down he noticed that it wasn’t a thorn, it was a scorpion. He fell on the floor and started calling for his parents. As soon as his parents came, they drove him 2 hours to the hospital. When he got there, the doctor gave him an antibiotic that would numb his leg. After a while he felt better.  Life lesson: Always choose the right and listen to your parents. They can teach you a lot while growing up.

Always do right

“Always do right.”

What this quote is trying to say is to always choose the right. Make right decisions and good things will come to you. Many people would enjoy having you around if you treat them with respect. You will get far in life and have an education. Don’t get caught up in smoking or drinking because then you will have to restart your life. Stay away from drugs because with them, you won’t be able to get an education. Wouldn’t you like to have a nice house, nice job, and get paid good money in the future? I know I would. That’s why you must stay in school and make good choices. In the end when everything is all over, you can finally look at yourself in a mirror and say “I did it.” All the years in school and college will pay off once you're living in your nice house and a good paying job. By choosing the right you will get there. No matter how long it takes, you will succeed and become what you wish to be.

it's better to be alone

“It’s better to be alone than to be in bad company.”
I think this quote means that when you’re alone you don’t want to do bad things. You can think about how to make your life better or what to do to conquer your goals. If you hang out with the wrong crowd, then they might want to go steal or drink or smoke. That will get you into deep trouble. It’s better off being alone, like that you won’t have to be getting chased by the cops or getting introduced to new drugs. If you want to stay out of trouble, hang with people that are going to help you succeed not people that are going to succeed without you. You need friends that are “goal reachers” not “goal busters.” With them you won’t get very far in life. You will probably have to start life new and fresh when you realize the people you are with aren’t the people you want in your life.

3 questions

The 3 Questions:
  1. Can people trust me to do what’s right?
  2. Am I committed to doing my very best?
  3. Do I treat people the way I want to be treated?
“If the answers to these are YES, there is no way you can fail.”
What this quote is trying to say is to always choose the right so people can confide in you. If you want people to have trust in you, you must show them that they can trust you when it comes to doing something they ask you to do. Always do your best when it comes to accomplishing your goals. Don’t bring yourself down or don’t let people bring you down towards your goals. Show them that you don’t need their help because you made it by yourself. Lastly, treat others how you want to be treated. This means that if you're nice to someone, they’re going to be nice back to you. If you're always mean and don’t know how to treat a person when they talk to you then they’re going to treat you the same way. If you want kindness, you must show kindness first. You can’t be mean then expect everyone to be nice to you. It doesn’t work like that but it works the opposite. Be nice and everyone will want to be your friend.

challenges teens face today

Challenges Teens Face Today

1. Major challenges teens deal with today:
  •  Depression
  • Bullying
  • Anorexia
  • Bulimia
  • Peer pressure
  • Anxiety
  • Stress
  • Body issues
  • Smoking/drinking
  • Drug addiction
  • Teen pregnancy
2. Problems I’m dealing with today:
  • I am dealing with stress because I’m working on bringing my grades up and getting ready for the idp that’s coming up on Thursday, December 8.
3. Being a ctr person helps me overcome any challenges I face because i know to always make good choices no matter what I’m going through in life.
4. I can help other teens by encouraging them that everything will get better as you grow. If you always make good choices you’re already halfway through your life.

6. Reflection: What is the greatest need that teens have today?

  • I think the greatest need that teens have today is money. I think this because the teens want money to go out and eat with friends or buy drugs. When the parents don’t have money, they look towards selling drugs to make the money that the parents aren’t able to give them.

Physical fitness

“Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity.”

What this quote is trying to say is that you shouldn’t only be fit. You should have a strong mind because the mind is a powerful thing. You should always have a strong mind because strong minds are what gets you somewhere. This is also what keeps you going. You will have high expectations for yourself and make it through life. If you go out and smoke or drink, that’s making yourself have a bad mind. You should be focused on school and education and life after high school or college. Set your goals and make sure you can achieve them so in the end you can say “I did it!”. You will be able to look back on all the accomplishments that you made. You can think about how your life would be if you actually went out and smoked or drank most of the time. Be proud of what you have set for yourself because in the end, you will become what you want to become.
