The 10 Indian Commandments
  1. Treat the Earth and all that dwells therein with respect.
  2. Remain close to the Great Spirit.
  3. Show great respect to your fellow beings.
  4. Work together for the benefit of all mankind.
  5. Give assistance and kindness wherever needed.
  6. Do what you know to be right.
  7. Look after the well-being of mind and body.
  8. Dedicate a share of your efforts to the greater good.
  9. Be truthful and honest at all times.
  10. Take full responsibility for your actions.
What these commandments are saying is to have respect towards your life living. You should respect what they ask of you. They want you to be a CTR person. Respecting not just life but the people too. These commandments help us because they teach us how to treat a person or adult in our life. How you should always be respectful to them and treat them good. Another thing is that you should always take responsibility for anything you do. If it’s good or bad, you should say it was you. Don’t let someone else take the blame for the mistake you did. That’s not right! You should tell them that you did it and you take full responsibility for it. You will know the next time you want to choose the wrong the consequences that come with it. This also implies for choosing the right. If you do something good and people want to recognize you, speak up. How would you feel if you helped save a woman's life and someone else takes the credit for it. I know I would feel bad because that could’ve been me but I chose not to say anything. Just follow what someone asks of you. Nothing will go wrong if you follow what will make you a better person.

“A promise must never be broken.”
What this quote is trying to say is that if you say something, you should always keep your word for it. If you say you're going to be somewhere at a certain time, make it happen. If you're going to be a few minutes late, then call someone so they know ahead of time. Don’t have someone waiting for you because you couldn’t make it the last minute. If you know you're not going to be able to make it, call ahead of time and cancel or reschedule. If you keep on breaking your promises, no one is going to be able to trust you anymore. They’re going to look for someone they can confide in the most. Don’t make a promise that you can’t keep. Tell them i’ll let you know or maybe. Don’t make it a for sure thing and then something last minute comes up. Promises should never be broken. A promise is like somebody giving you the key to their heart. When they come back asking if you still have it, you say no, I lost it. That person is not gonna trust you with anything that valuable since you lost it the first time. Stay true to your word and everyone will stay true to you.

“My basic principle is that you don’t make decisions because they are easy; you don’t make them because they are cheap; you don’t make the because they are popular; you make them because they are right.”
What this quote is trying to say is to always make the right decision. For example, if you believe lying is wrong say it. Don’t stay quiet because everybody else is against it. If you know that your friends drinking and smoking is wrong, tell them. If they don’t listen to you then you need to find new friends. Make decisions for your own good. Don’t make a decision because your friend said to or everyone it saying it to be that. Make the decision to do what is right. If you know that stealing is wrong, don’t do it. If you know lying is bad, don’t do it. Your decisions determine your destiny. If you go out and make wrong decisions, then your life won’t go on as pretty as you think it might be. You can run into so many bumps in the road and you will soon realize that it’s time to change. If you want to be successful, choose the right. How do you want to be successful if you're going out and stealing, drinking etc. if you really work hard for something that you want, you will get it. It will take time but in the end it will all be worth it. Choose the right and you will be going down the right path.

“I am not bound to win, but I am bound to be true. I must stand with anybody that stands right, and stand with him while he is right, and part with him he goes wrong.”
What this quote is trying to say is to surround yourself with people of right doing. Be with people that will make your future better and brighter. Don’t hand out with people that are going to turn your future into a total mess. If you do hang out with the wrong people, try to make them become better. Show them that by them making bad choices, they won’t go anywhere or become anyone in life. Your friends may be your friends, but will they be there until the end? Are they going to help you succeed while you help them do the same or are they just going to leave? Create a future for yourself. Have in mind what you want to do, what you want to study, and what you want to become. Go out and reach that goal you have set for yourself. Don’t let CTWs come and mess up that living for you. Strive for the goal. In the end it will all be worth it. All you have to do is have faith and believe in yourself. Tell yourself day and night that you can do it no matter what people tell you. Prove them wrong by succeeding. Show them that their words don’t hurt you and you don’t care what they say. You know what you want to be and it’s their choice if they want to see you succeed or not.

“Character is higher than intellect.”
What this quote is trying to say is that your character matter most. If you have a nice character then your intellect shouldn’t matter. Having the nice character, you can get through life. That will make you smart and bright and intelligent. You don’t need to be smart to do something, if you believe you can do it, the go for it. Don’t let anyone tell you something else. They may have a high intellect but you have a high character. Character is what’s going to help you when you need it the most. Being nice to people so you can have their trust and there will be no problem for them helping you.
