Duties and responsibilities: A pilot's initial responsibility is to check the weather throughout the flight path and confirm flight schedules. Pilots are also responsible for running a comprehensive preflight checklist of all systems, including fuel, engines, hydraulics and electronics.
Salary: The median pay is $102,520.
Education: To become a pilot you need a bachelor's degree in aircraft operations, aviation, aeronautical engineering, or a related field. In addition, you will complete up to two months of ground training and need more than 1,500 hours of flight experience.
Demand for this profession: The demand for this profession is to grow 5% from 2014-2024.
Reflection: Do you think you would like to be one? Why? Why not?
I don’t think I would like to be one because even though they have good pay, I wouldn’t feel safe flying hundreds of people in the night or day time.
