What this quote is trying to say is to not let other decisions come in the way of succeeding. For example, telling yourself that you’re going to go home and finish the essay that is due for homework but then want to make plans to go out after school to a friend’s party is wrong. Don’t let excuses come in the way of you trying to make your life better. Finish what you gotta do first and then if you have time you can go and have fun with your friends. Put your education first then any other activities you want to go and do. Be successful in life because that’s what you're parents want to see. They want to see you graduate from high school and go to grad-night or prom. If you continue to choose the right and not make any bad decisions along your way, then you will become someone in life. You will achieve the goals you have set for yourself and make that good name for you.
