Duties and responsibilities: Ophthalmologists are physicians who diagnose and treat diseases of the eye, including glaucoma and cataracts; vision problems such as nearsightedness and eye injuries.
Salary: The median pay is $199,423 per year.
Education: You must have done 4 years of college, 4 years of medical school, 1 year of internship, and 3 years training in a hospital of ophthalmology.
Demand for this profession: The demand for Ophthalmologist is to grow 14% from 2014 to 2024.
Reflection: Do you think you would like to be one? Why? Why not?
I think I would like to be one because they have good pay. Also, because in my physiology class we are currently learning about the eye and how everything inside works. I would like to learn more about this topic.
